Tasting note

Our 2021 Tweedies Gully Estate Adelaide Hills Syrah has hints of delicious plum and an elegance of dark fruit with added notes of spice and slight pepper. This wine has a nice balance of subtle oak and soft tannins with great structure.

Vineyard

We have a long standing relationship with a fantastic grower located in the premium area of the Adelaide Hills, where we are blessed with his grape growing skills combined with an open mind that allows us to have input into how we would like our grapes grown.

Vintage

2021, despite having some challenges early in the ripening period, produced grapes that ripened well and steadily, making a well balanced, complex and rounded Syrah.

Winemaking

Our fruit is picked at the optimum time to allow it to fully ripen, achieving the perfect balance of alcohol, acid and fruit before it is harvested, gently crushed and fermented. The wine is then allowed to settle in a combination of new and old oak both French and American.

We have done all the work so the wine is ready to drink now, or if you can resist the temptation it will age nicely for a further 8 years.
